Ack, I haven’t updated like I should have ^^; Hopefully this really long one will make up for that!

So, anyways, some much-needed news/ramble!

I bought the Orange Box (& Garry’s Mod) over Steam and a new iPod Nano with my Christmas mula :D

Portal was hell’a fun! It’s short but jam-packed with concentrated awesomeness! The ending song wraps it up so nicely (and gives me something to repeat endlessly on my new iPod 8D) It’s got the mind-bending portal puzzles mixed in with a great script and voice-acting! The WCC is a freakin’ INANIMATE CUBE, but he’s got a giant fanbase already XD. I wish I could find some good fan-made maps to sedate my lust for more portal content.

Also, getting Episode 1 & 2 prompted me to finish playing Half-Life 2 and I ploughed through all of them lickety-split! I feel like a real FPS guy now! I CAN’T WAIT FOR EPISODE 3! YAAAAAAY! GIMME GORDAN WITH A PORTAL GUN! :D

… and I haven’t even tried out Team Fortress 2 yet :P Btw, my SteamID is KreeTheBasilisk

The iPod was a bit of a sudden splurge (that I could have bought Mario with D: ) but it’s awesome fun to listen to the Joystiq podcast when I don’t have anything to do. Also, sorry my poor DS Lite, but this iPod is also way easier to lug around with me in those gaps of travel time.

Apart from those two things, we mainly ate tons of candy and nuts for Christmas :D Fun family times. Also, my brother got Cluedo. CLUEDO! XD ‘Tis fun. Also, I ate all my Gourmet Jelly Beans and now he doesn’t want me to mooch any of his :P

Ohh, before I forget, back before Portal and HL2 consumed my soul, I played a lot of Kyntt Stories. It’s free and artsy, try it out! There’s extra map packs and more in the forums. “Within a Deep Forest” is also a blast.

So yeah, there’s my long-winded update of what I’ve been up to. Feel free to poke me with countless probing questions! :)

Oh look! Many words!

Even though I know it’s a bit of a slack when I should be studying up for the Saturday morning exam, today was just too much fun not to share :P

Some highlights:

  • Making random quotes (such as this post’s title :P) and silly sentences in a multi-person gamish thing. It’s based around those fridge magnets that are words and fragments so you can write stuff on your fridge XD Here’s just a few of my random poetry:
he will say go where my world is red as country earth
    help me - 'gingerbread man'
    which sheep was here?
I grew before that guide said others should follow!
most food will be large and round
she baked our cat from long point farm
no need to call far, give new land first

Give these virtual fridge magnets a try! They make me want to buy the real thing now XD Take heed that some people might try to steal your words, so don’t get too attached :P
  • This balancing puzzle is pretty fun :P The birds can get on your nerves, but it was fun to mess around with each of the different items’ behaviours. The aim of the puzzle is to balance items on hooks to keep them out of the water. If you keep them all dry for a few seconds, you get another item to juggle. You’ll end up with more items than you have hooks for at the last “level” XD
  • Messing with lasers can kill a few hours.
  • So can bouncing a ball.
  • Go carts, anyone? :P
  • Odd. Fun, but odd. XD
  • We all remember playing this on paper, right? It’s kinda hilarious to see it remade with radiobuttons. My trouble is being able to pwn people at this game too easily.
  • Hapland was one I found the other day. It’s similar to some other types of problem solving scenes I’ve played online, except this one has a lot more things going wrong O.o prepare to refresh heaps (or cheat 8D)

All of these were found, as you might have guessed, with a toolbar plugin from a site called Stumble Upon. It’s like Googling, but without any sense of direction, and with user reviews for everything. This plugin is responsible for much time wasting. :P

Mmm… yes… I need to stop wasting time ^^; I should save that kind of thing for after my exams.

Speaking of which, I found some source codey stuff that I’ll be able to use to make the best MSN ink editor ever! More on that later ;)
